Connecting to your sense of being will show you the way.
The first part of laying a solid foundation from which to flourish is to identify your current state of being.
This is a consideration that may seem simplistic but there are not many people that have ever paused for thought, for consideration or identification of themselves. I know I never did!
For in our lost ways of work, a fast track world, long hours and poor health, there is little food for thought, there is little intelligence for how the being in the human truly desires to be.
The Considerations for Change that underpin my work start with the identification stage, connecting with the inner intelligence within, through a Navigation of the Self.
For as I have learnt; It is in the Self that success lies, in your ability to see who you are, what you are and where you want to go.
We then move to Considerations for Change in your business and leadership. But it starts here with you.
Self first, business second, no change in Self, no change in the business - the equation is also simplistic!
In order to begin to identify the Self (who you be) on a personal level or a professional level, it is important for you to consider concepts for change and explore your sense of being.
So your sense of being could be that you are in conflict, you are stressed, you are being bullied, you are unhappy, you have personal issues, you are being...this is where you are, this is where your sense of Self is.
As my company name reflects, I am working with the art of coming in to being, with the Self both personally and professionally, both in life and in leadership.
Often there is no separation between the two, for they are interlinked and correlate with each other, what affects one affects the other.
There is a synchronicity, where in essence there is no personal and professional because the two are one.
The person is in the profession and the profession is in the person.
And so as I personally experienced, this has a cause and effect on how the being is being.
You cannot come into a different way of being in life or leadership, if you cannot identify exactly where you are. For as I have learnt it is in the Self that success is found.
Consideration means to reflect, it means to pause for thought, to retreat to review.
When you retreat, when you take time out to consider, the being within will naturally present the answers.
From my own experiences I know that most leaders, most CEOs, never have these thoughts and therefore the company cannot have change. The leader cannot have change.
In the consideration there is clarity, and in clarity there is self-discovery.
This process creates pathways for potentiality. It brings out the potential in you, the leader.
The potentiality for change, the potentiality for purpose, the potentiality for productivity.
If you look at a map there are many pathways to take, some are disastrous and will never lead you to where you want to go because you are following someone else's Sat Nav - someone else's sense of being, someone else’s consideration, someone else's definition - not your own. This process ensures you are following the pathway that is perfect for you and your own Sat Nav is guiding you.
THE FIVE FACETS OF THE SELF
There are five definitions that must be considered for change, to create a sense of being that brings fulfilment, satisfaction, success, sustainability, security, serenity not stress.
When you are connected to your sense of being, there's no stress there's no struggle, there’s no striving, connected to your concepts there is no conflict, competition.
The leader is unique, they must find their own sense of being before they can ever be a unique leader.
When the sense of being is identified, actualised, and considered and defined by the individual so much more of their purpose can unfold and flourish, so much more identification, actualisation and the definitions of their own personal persona will flourish.
And so, Considerations for Change and these 5 facets of definition, must come from you in order to accelerate your sense of being. I ask you to consider and find your own definitions to what truly ignites your sense of being, your definition of purpose.
Once these definitions have been considered, you will automatically have taken onboard new concepts.
This process is a seeding - it is finding the route for change, the right route, the route to be able to relate and to change the company culture, to change the concepts and end the cultural control and conditioning that places a limitation on you!
This can only be changed through highlighting what is and illuminating a consideration, a new definition, a new route for the richness of being able to relate to yourself, as the leader, to your business, to the company, to the team, to the people, this level of awareness is an individual creation.
Without identification, self-actualisation or definition of considerations there is no clarity.
You have no concept of where you are going or who you are, it creates challenge, it creates conflict, it creates confusion and it can create crisis.
In this new way, through your own consideration, you are creating new cultural concepts from understanding that when you have a sense of being there is no competition, you are unique, authentic, whole, fulfilled and complete.
This is navigation through your own internal being, not through an external system that does not serve you.
This foundational level process will help you to understand your own bespoke personal foundation from which to flourish and build upon.
You will be ready for further consideration and consolidation of change in business.
As these Considerations for Change in you are implemented into your company concepts and you ground it in everything you can create a conscious culture. Where your values, ethics, ethos, structure and systems are built upon these considerations leading to an emergence of certainty in uncertain times, of stability, of building a strong foundation through being considerate to purpose and the potential of all people.
The consideration in these uncertain times can no longer be on a profit over people driven approach, it is not sustainable and will not give any company certainty, these waves of change are here.
The old way of being in business diminishes the Self. The new way of being in business excels the Self!
There are 4 Considerations (The 4 Cs) that are the foundation level of my work.
COMPANY, CONNECTION, COMMUNITY AND CREATION
The current way of being in business is one of a production and profit driven process, there are values in this way and there is customer care, but it has many shortcomings. The first shortcoming is people.
So many companies do not have a community or connection to people which limits creation.
By creation I mean bringing out the true potential that leads to effective productivity and profit by placing people first.
In the current mode, which I am referring to as the old way, the company has one aim, where success is purely profit driven and this places limitations on a company, - a 'limited company' that limits its success through an old worn out psychology. Where supply and demand is reached for like a robotic systematic structure that dehumanises a leader, a community, a connection, a sense of belonging, the ability to communicate and express creation - where people are actually deskilled.
And so, a company that works in this way may be in profit but it is also in deficit, for it lacks. This way of being in business will be outmoded by the end of this decade for the simple reason that whilst we are seeing many financial changes, many companies being more demanding of people through this time of crisis and uncertainty, we are also seeing a rising of people wanting a deeper meaning to life and leadership. To maintain a leading edge position, companies must change through rising all the people.
There is little or no community because the depth of meaning is on productivity and profit, aligned with an outdated definition of success that is stripping the planet bare.
I wish to give to you a definition of community, because when it is worked with and implemented and structured in a way which defines its meaning, there is more capacity to be unlimited through understanding a human dynamic.
Community means to come into unity together, where all pieces make the whole, where all pieces are seen as equally important. Therefore when a company responds more as a community, there is a sense of connectiveness and togetherness, (and whilst there is a need for boundaries and clear lines of accountability, I do not dispute this, it is of course important to understand where a person's roles and responsibilities start and end), the fear based hierarchy crumbles, when it is understood that all pieces of the whole are needed to create an outcome, an objective, to deliver the business strategic goal.
When all people are seen as important pieces of the business, with an important role, an important responsibility, are considered an important part - you have a community and there is little exploitation. In todays world of fast track getting and receiving, of demand and desire, of gratification not gratitude, we have learnt to exploit. This is sadly now prevalent in many workplace structures. The unacceptable has become acceptable.
Exploitation is a limitation, it is a limitation to the human potential, it is a limitation to human productivity, it is a limitation to human profit. Exploitation diminishes the emotions, it diminishes innovation, inspiration and aspiration, where the potential of anyone is simply squashed, it is denied, it is diminished, the human spirit then becomes a robotic machine devoid of a sense of perception that ignites the potential within. Exploitation has no place in a new way, as we are seeing.
The new way forward places emphasis on the company, the spotlight is on the company, where those that are leading edge will know their depth of meaning and why and express their ethos, ethics and values. For in this they will attract the right people, with the right personality, with the right level of respect that will reach their potential.
Through these Considerations for Change is the creation of more opportunities, more profit share, more training, more understanding of all the intelligences in the person - emotional, mindful and physical, a recognition of stress, of strain, of work/life balance.
Conscious action that is not a tick box exercise.
Investment in People through the promotion of their unique potential and leading with the consciousness of consideration, care, compassion and kindness.
Leadership that creates change.
For as I have considered, and as I see it and as I have experienced it, reviewing the history of the dark ages and the early industrial revolution, of poor working conditions, long hours and poor pay...hundreds of years, centuries later - how much difference do you see?
